The California Wine Country is less than an hour’s drive away from San Francisco and it is one of the most beautiful and popular sightseeing opportunities when visiting San Francisco. On our tour you will enjoy the morning exploring the spectacular Redwood Sequoia trees at Muir Woods, then relax in the afternoon while your tour guide introduces you to the California Wine Country. All our wine tasting is complimentary and you will even have a chance to try 5-10 delicious wines at each winery! This tour is ideal for both the first time wine taster and those with a prized wine cellar full of fine wines.

Wine Country & Redwoods Van Tour Itinerary


  • 08:00 - 09:00 Pick-up for your Wine Country tour at your San Francisco hotel in downtown or Fisherman’s Wharf area.

  • 09:20 - 09:20 Stop at the beautiful Palace of Fine Arts

  • 09:30 - 09:40 Golden Gate Bridge Marin Headlands stop, enjoy a less frequented vista point to get spectacular views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, Angel Island, the Bay Bridge, and the San Francisco Skyline.

  • 09:40 - 10:00 Drive to Muir Woods National Monument where the Sequoia Redwood Trees grow.

  • 10:00 - 11:00 Muir Woods Tour. Hike (or walk, it is very easy) the best part of Muir Woods is stopping to admire the Redwood trees that are over 1,000 years old and over 240 feet (80 meters) tall.

  • 11:00 - 12:00 Drive through the Wine Country to Sonoma on your tour.

  • 12:00 - 13:00 Visit historical downtown Sonoma a real taste of the old west. In Sonoma, the once capital of the Independent Republic of California, we visit the Solano Mission built under Mexican rule in 1823, the old army barracks, Hotel Toscano with its old west saloon, the Sonoma Cheese factory, have lunch (you can bring your own or purchase some there) and more.

  • 13:15 - 15:15 Tour three interesting and distinct California wineries, and try delicious hand-crafted wines. On the wine country tour you will learn about the wine making process in California and what makes the California wine country so special.

  • 16:00 - 16:30 Drive to Marin County towards Sausalito and its picturesque floating homes, a great photo opportunity of San Francisco. Drive back to San Francisco or take an optional ferry back to San Francisco (Fisherman’s Wharf or San Francisco ferry terminal).

  • 17:00 - 17:30 Drop off at your San Francisco Hotel’s front door.
